How to convert an iPhone photo to PDF

Three ways to turn a photo on your iPhone into a PDF: the Print trick, the Files app, and an in-browser converter that combines many photos and handles HEIC.

1. The Print trick (one photo, no apps)

  1. Open the photo in Photos and tap Share.
  2. Choose Print.
  3. On the print preview, spread two fingers on the page thumbnail (zoom out gesture in reverse) — it opens as a PDF.
  4. Tap Share again and save to Files or send it.

Quick, but you get whatever page size the print dialog chose and it gets fiddly with many photos.

2. The Files app

Save the photos to Files (Share → Save to Files), select them in Files, tap ⋯ → Create PDF. Order follows the current sort, and pages take the shape of each photo.

3. In the browser, with control over order and size

  1. Open the image to PDF converter in Safari.
  2. Tap Choose images → Photo Library and select several photos.
  3. Rearrange with the arrow buttons, rotate if needed, pick A4 or US Letter, and tap Convert.
  4. Safari shows a download; tap it, then Share or save to Files.

This works with HEIC photos directly — they’re decoded on the phone and nothing is uploaded. It’s the best of the three when a form wants one PDF of several pages at a standard paper size.

Where does Safari save the PDF?

In the Downloads folder in the Files app (unless you changed it in Settings → Apps → Safari → Downloads).

Why does the PDF look huge?

Pick “Smaller file” before converting; iPhone photos are 12–48 megapixels, far more than a document page needs.
